Update 4/25/2012 - Embers and Ember Glows are hatching out in good numbers this seasn. As you can see we have had a nice group of Reverse Stripe Ember Glows offered on the site. The Tangerine colored version of the Ember Glow will be available soon, with some displaying snake and red eyes. Need to let them grow out more due to color requirements. Should have posting of these by early May 2012.

Update 2/10/2012 - Hatched our first Ember of the 2012 Breeding Program. This hatchling is a real head turner. Red Eyes. Will post pictures in the near future.

As you can already guess, I love Embers, Snake or Red Eyed. After all I did name this site EmberGecko.com. One of the main reasons I breed and keep Leopard Gecko's was my attachment to my first Ember "Quagmire" pictured on the right and the home page.

He has been a great pet and still to this day his bright Lemon Yellow body color with that totaly White tail are one of my favorites. He has been a great breeder. We do have available Ember Leopard Geckos for sale.

Morph Descrirtion: An Ember is a bright Yellow bodied Leopard Gecko with a White tail. Some may display more or less a brighter Yellow at the base of the tail with the balance of the tail being White. The eyes are either Snake Eyed or Red Eyed. They may come in Normal, Giant or Super Giant sizes.  

History: The Ember was first created by Garrick De Meyer in 2007.

The original morph was created by breeding a RAPTOR (Red Eyed Albino Patternless Tremper ORange) with a Tremper Patternless Albino (TPA).

2012 Breeding Program Goal: Our main goal with our 2012 Ember Breeding Program is to produce a nice group of Giant and Super Giant Embers. We are also hoping to see some interesting morphs as well. For more info see the 2011 Program page.

Size: 17 Grams as of today 5/18/12, just over 1 month old and gaining weight. He/she has to hit 90grams for male/60 grams for female minimum weight within the first year for Giant.  Possible Super Giant. Several siblings from last year grew out to 150g.

wColor:  He has a bright orange/yellow banded body.  This color will turn to a more solid yelloy/orange color with some pattern on the head as it gets older. you can already see the color coming in on the head and neck. The tail is bright white with a small amount or orange. Albino eyes with some red veins.

Genetics:  Embergecko. Giant to Giant = 25% Super Giants, 50% Giants, and 25% Normal sized.

Special Marks: Color of the head, you can see lavender circling the neck. clearly there will be some pattern in the future.

Comments: He/she will make a nice addition to any breeding program or collection. He/she is an above quality example of its morph type.

Size: 12grams as of today 5/10/12, just over 1 month old and gaining weight. He has to hit 80 grams for male to meet the minimum giant size in the first year of growth for Giant.  Very good chance for Super Giant Weight.  We had a few just like this last season and they grew out to good size. The father is a large 93g Red Eyed Ember and the mother is a Giant Tremper Patternless Albino Enigma (72g).

Color: He has a very bright yellow body and a clear white tail.  He has solid Red Eyes. He/she is displaying 2 large red spots on the top/side of its head. And there are 3 large spots of Lavender on the back.

Genetics:  Tremper/Embergecko. Giant to Giant = 25% Super Giants, 50% Giants, and 25% Normal sized.

10.5 inchs long already, this big boy could get real big.

Size: 75 grams as of today 4/13/12, just over 10 months old and gaining weight each month. This big guy has to hit 80 grams for Giant.  Very good chance for Super Giant Weight. This guy has a very long body, and is fairly thin. He should fatten up as he gets older. We had a few just like this last season and they were slow growers also. The father is a large 90g Red Eyed Ember and the mother is a Giant Tremper Patternless Albino Enigma (74g).

Color: He has a very bright yellow body and a clear white tail.  He has solid Red Eyes, that are light in color and you can see darker red snake eyes inside the red of the eyes. Kind of interesting.
